$599.99Price

This 1857 Flying Eagle cent, graded About Uncirculated 55 (AU55) by PCGS, features three uniquely distinctive characteristics.

Firstly, there is a distinctive die crack from the center of the left wing to the E in United.

Secondly, there are strong, distinct planchet polishing lines between the right wing and the tail.

Thirdly, the reverse is slightly rotated.

The Flying Eagle is the very first small cent ever introduced and as this series was only minted between 1856 and 1858, this coin is a rare and historically significant addition to every collection. The survival rate of these coins in such high condition remains unknown, adding to their allure for collectors.
