1833 Classic Head Half Cent CAC AU Details
This business struck, 1833 Classic Head Half Cent, minted in Philadelphia and made from 100% pure copper, offers a remarkable piece for discerning collectors. Graded About Uncirculated Details by CAC, it is noted for environmental damage and is encased within a flawless CAC holder. With a known mintage of 103,000 and an unknown survival rate, this coin’s rarity is enhanced by uniquely striking characteristics including a rotated reverse. There are many perfectly placed die clashes surrounding Lady Liberty's portrait which appear to create a halo effect. There is a subtle die break that connects all the left-hand stars except the lowest-placed star. There is a distinctive die chip in the "B" of Liberty which, at a glance, appears to be LIRERTY. Additionally, the "E" and "R" in LIBERTY are independently conjoined independently, which enhances the coin's unique characteristics. The reverse features similar die clashes behind the wreath, a die break that transitions from behind the wreath toward the "T" is STATES. The letters "H" and "A" in HALF have doubling, as does the letter "C" in CENT. The toning on both the obverse and reverse is a beautiful amalgamation of burgundy hues mixed with vibrant burnt sienna, and turquoise bursts. This mesmerizingly beautiful, well-preserved high-grade coin would be an incredible addition to every collection.
