The 2026 Gettysburg Address Quarter Is Now in Circulation

The fifth and final coin in the U.S. Mint's America's 250th anniversary quarter series entered circulation on October 19, 2026. The 1776~2026 Gettysburg Address quarter completes a five-coin series commemorating landmark moments in American history. The other four quarters in the series honored the Mayflower Compact, the Revolutionary War, the Declaration of Independence, and the U.S. Constitution. The Gettysburg Address quarter features Abraham Lincoln on the obverse. The design was created by Artistic Infusion Program artist Justin Kunz and sculpted by Don Everhart. His weathered expression captures the weight of the Civil War years. The reverse shows two clasped hands with the inscription "A New Nation Conceived in Liberty," drawn from Lincoln's address delivered at Gettysburg on November 19, 1863. Philadelphia and Denver struck the coins, though combined production through September stood at just 2.8 million. That is far fewer than the 161 to 316 million struck for the earlier designs in the series. That low mintage makes the Gettysburg Address quarter the scarcest circulation-strike coin in the 2026 series by a wide margin. Rolls and bags will go on sale through the U.S. Mint on November 13, and collectors who want uncirculated examples from each facility should plan ahead, as rolls for the earlier designs sold out quickly. For collectors building a complete set of 2026 Semiquincentennial quarters, finding all five in high grade while they're still fresh is the right move. Commonwealth Coins and Collectibles stocks pre-1965 silver coins and silver rounds for collectors who want to build alongside their modern set. Browse our inventory at www.ccandc.gold.
